With mountains in the background and two Rift Valley lakes below, the city of Arba Minch has a striking setting and a prime location next to Nech Sar National Park.
Located at the base of the western side of the Great Rift Valley, Arba Minch received its name (meaning 40 springs) for the abundant local springs which produce a natural groundwater forest. The region is now famed for its fruit growing and delicious fresh mangos, bananas and oranges are often for sale by the roadside.
